Terms of Service

Effective 28 July 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Conversate ("Conversate", "we", "us"). By using Conversate — on the web or in our mobile apps — you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.

2. What Conversate is

Conversate generates conversation starters and social suggestions using AI. It offers a free tier with daily limits and an offline suggestion library, and a paid subscription ("Conversate Plus") with unlimited use.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use Conversate.

4. The free tier

Free use is subject to daily limits (for example, a set number of AI generations per day, applied per device). We may adjust what's included in the free tier over time; the offline suggestion library always remains available at no cost. Attempting to circumvent limits is a breach of these terms.

5. Conversate Plus

Plans. Plus is offered as a monthly subscription ($4.99/month), an annual subscription ($29.99/year, which includes a 7-day free trial), and a limited one-time "Founder Lifetime" purchase ($59.99, first 100 buyers). Prices are in USD; your store or payment provider may show local-currency equivalents and applicable taxes.

Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time — through your Apple or Google account settings for app-store purchases, or through the manage-subscription link for web purchases. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Plus until then.

Free trial. If your plan includes a trial, you won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. Otherwise the subscription price is charged when the trial finishes.

Founder Lifetime. "Lifetime" means Plus access for as long as Conversate operates as a service. It applies to you personally and isn't transferable or resellable.

Fair use. "Unlimited" is subject to a fair-use limit (currently 150 AI generations per day) that exists to prevent automated abuse; past it, offline suggestions keep working. No ordinary human use comes close to it.

Restoring purchases. App-store purchases restore through your Apple or Google account. Web purchases restore using the email address from checkout.

Price changes. If we change subscription pricing, we'll give you advance notice, and the new price applies from your next renewal — never mid-period.

6. Refunds

Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play follow those stores' refund policies. For web purchases, contact us and we'll try to sort it out fairly. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded — including the consumer guarantees of the Australian Consumer Law.

7. Acceptable use

Conversate is for personal, lawful use. You agree not to:

  • use the service to harass, deceive, or harm others;
  • access the service by automated means, scrape it, or use it to bulk-generate content for another product or service;
  • circumvent usage limits, authentication, or security measures;
  • reverse engineer or interfere with the operation of the service.

8. Your content and AI output

What you type is yours. You give us permission to process it solely to operate the service (see the Privacy Policy — we don't store it). The suggestions generated for you are yours to use freely in your conversations and life. Because they're AI-generated, similar suggestions may be produced for other users — no exclusivity is promised.

9. AI suggestions — use your judgment

Suggestions are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate, awkward, or a poor fit for your situation, and you're responsible for what you actually say and do. Conversate is not professional advice of any kind — including medical, legal, or mental-health advice — and it is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know is in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Conversate available and useful, but features may change, and AI generation depends on third-party providers — when it's unavailable, the app falls back to its offline library. If we ever permanently discontinue the paid service, we'll give reasonable notice and handle active subscriptions fairly, including refunds where the law requires them.

11. Our property

The Conversate name, design, and software are ours. These terms don't grant you any rights in them beyond using the app as intended.

12. Ending things

You can stop using Conversate at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, including abuse of usage limits. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as sections 8, 9, and 13) survive it.

13. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Conversate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and our total liability to you for any claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory consumer guarantees.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We'll update the effective date above and flag significant changes in the app. Continuing to use Conversate after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria — without limiting any consumer protections that apply where you live.
